Wotton Hockey's Boys u16s reach third successive National Finals

The National Finals take place across 12/13 April at Nottingham Hockey Centre

Wotton-under-Edge HC’s Boys u16 Tier 1 squad have secured a place at their third successive England Hockey National Finals.

Having played in a regional league structure before Christmas, the boys have recently been competing in a pooled ‘Supra League’ in which the top 2 teams from each pool go through to an 8 team National Finals weekend in April.

The majority of this squad – including lead coach Andy Edwards have been here before; as part of an u14 squad in 2022/23 (securing a silver medal) and as part of an under 16 squad last year. Some of the squad have been playing hockey together since they were 8 years old.

Though the finals pools have yet to be announced, they will be competing against 7 other teams over the weekend for the title of National Champions including Wimbledon, Surbiton & Old Loughtonians whose senior teams all play at the elite level of English Hockey.

An amazing achievement for the team, the club and the town.

In addition to their youth hockey achievements the majority of the squad already play across our Mens teams on a Saturday in the West Hockey League.

Good luck lads in Nottingham!
